2018-19 Honors — CSCAA honorable mention Scholar All-American… recipient of the Wally Ris Memorial Award for leading the team in the 100 free for the fourth consecutive season. 2018-19 — Posted NCAA “B” qualifying times in the 50 free (19.86) and 100 free (42.80)… posted an NCAA  auto qualifying time as member of 400-free relay (2:51.06) and a provisional time in the 200-free relay (1:17.65)… member of the team-leading 200-free and 400-free relays… earned the bronze medal in the 400-free relay with a school record and NCAA auto time of 2:51.06 at the Big Ten Championships… finished seventh in the 100 free (42.80) at the Big Tens.

2017-18 Honors — Honorable mention All-American as part of 200-free relay… one of four Hawkeyes to share team MVP Award… recipient of the Wally Ris Memorial Award for leading the team in the 100 free. 2017-18 — NCAA qualifier in three events — 100 free, 200-free relay, 400-free relay… swam to a school-record time of 1:17.46 in the 200-free relay prelims at NCAA Championships… went on to finish 16th overall to earn honorable mention All-America honors… placed 23rd in 400-free relay (2:53.41) and 33rd individually in 100 free (43.39) at NCAAs… swam the lead leg of Iowa’s fourth place 200-free relay (1:17.50) and fourth-place 400-free relay (2:51.58) and anchored the fifth-place 200-medley (1:25.77) and 400-medley (3:08.24) relays at the Big Ten Championships… also placed sixth in 100 free with a school-record time of 42.71 seconds and 11th in 50 free (19.63)… led the team with NCAA “B” qualifying times in the 50 free and 100 free… swam to two individual event victories.

2016-17 Honors — Named the Big Ten Swimmer of the Week on Oct. 5… recipient of the Wally Ris Memorial Award for leading the team in 100 free… also led team in 50 free.  2016-17 — Broke the Iowa school record in the 100 free (43.15) at the Big Ten Championships… swam NCAA “B” qualifying times in both the 50 (19.65) and 100 free (43.15) with collegiate-best times… finished 11th and 12th, respectively, in 50 and 100 free at the Big Ten Championships… member of the 200, 400, and 800-freestyle relays that finished fifth, sixth, and sixth, respectively, at the Big Tens… also was a part of the 200 and 400-medley relays that finished seventh and eighth, respectively, at the Big Ten Championships.

2015-16 — NCAA qualifier in two events — 200-medley relay and 400-medley relay… posted NCAA “B” qualifying times in 50 free (20.06), 100 free (43.86), and 200 free (1:37.80)… member of school-record setting and NCAA automatic qualifying 400-medley relay (3:07.83)… part of NCAA provisional qualifying 200-medley relay (1:25.67)…recipient of the Wally Ris Memorial Award for leading the team in the 100 free… also was second in 200 free and third in 50 free… swam career-best time of 54.35 (100 back) and 55.70 (100 fly)… member of team-leading 200-free relay (1:18.72), 400-free relay (2:56.37), 800-free relay (6:27.83), 200-medley relay (1:25.67), and 400-medley relay (3:07.83)… placed 20th in 200-medley relay (1:26.50) and 21st in 400-medley relay (3:10.06) at NCAA meet… scored in seven events at Big Ten Championships… placed third in 400-medley relay (3:07.83), fourth in 200-medley relay (1:25.67), sixth in 800-free relay (6:27.83), seventh in 200-free relay (1:18.72), eighth in 400-free relay (2:56.46), 11th in 100 free (43.86), and 21st in 50 free (20.12)… won five individual races and six relays on the year.

High School — Twice selected to represent England Schools in international meets, competing in the 2013 World School games in Brazil, where he won a gold medal in the 4×100-medley relay… swam in the 2013 and 2014 European Junior Championships in Poland and Holland, swimming the anchor leg for the winning 400-metet relay… began swimming for the Plymouth Leander program at age 12, winning multiple national titles between 2009-14 in sprint freestyle events… broke several English and British freestyle records at the ages of 12, 13, 15, and 16… swam one year for the City of Derby squad, helping team to a sixth place finish iin the Arena League National Championships… top times are 23.32 (50-meter free), 50.70 (100-meter free), 1:51.81 (200-meter free), 25.91 (50-meter fly).

Personal — Born May 22, 1996… son of Martin and Angela Smith… has two older siblings, Perry and Tamsyn… majoring in sport and recreation management.
