Ireland Hostetler is in her third year with the University of Iowa football program, in the position of recruiting operations and special events coordinator. She previously served in the role of student assistant for operations and recruiting as an undergraduate from 2017-21.
In 2023, the Hawkeyes won 10 games, including their final four, to capture the Big Ten West Division for the second time in three years. Iowa advanced to another January bowl game (Citrus Bowl) and finished the season ranked No. 24. The Hawkeyes have been ranked in the final AP Top 25 five of the last six seasons.
Iowa won eight contests in 2022, concluding the season with a 21-0 win over Kentucky in the Music City Bowl and wins in five of its final six games.
Hostetler supports the directors of recruiting and football operations within the football program with the coordination of recruiting functions, team travel and events, including team banquet and camps and clinics. She is involved with gameday recruiting functions and official visits with the entire recruiting staff.
In working with camps, Hostetler is involved in registration and operational logistics for campers. She manages the hiring, supervision, and evaluations of the Iowa football student office assistants, to ensure optimal office coverage and exceptional administrative support.
Prior to joining the Iowa staff, Hostetler served as an operations and events intern with the Sugar Bowl (August, 2021-February, 2022), while at the same time serving as a gameday media assistant with the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans.
As a student assistant with the Iowa football program, Hostetler assisted the recruiting operations in a variety of tasks, including maintenance of recruitment databases, on-campus recruiting, vendor relations, mass mailings, and all official head coach autograph requests.
Hostetler also assisted football coaches, leadership, student-athletes, visitors, and NFL scouts with special projects, vendor coordination, office management, event operations and additional assigned duties.
Hostetler earned her bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management from the University of Iowa, with event management concentration and a minor in communication studies. She is a native of Kalona, Iowa.
