The University of Iowa men’s gymnastics team has been recognized by theCollege Gymnastics Association, ranking fourth in the nation with a team grade point average of3.195. Stanford took top honors with a team GPA of 3.472, followed by William and Mary(3.349) and M.I.T. (3.2).
Three Hawkeyes were recognized as 2003 All-America Scholar-Athletes for attaining at least a3.5 GPA and earning a minimum NCAA gymnastics score of 8.0 during the 2002-03 academicyear. Former Hawkeye Ryan Meeks, a business and art major, posted a 3.95 GPA. Senior MattMetzger, an economics major, finished the year with a 3.83 GPA. Former Hawkeye CameronSchick, a pre-med major, posted a 3.54 GPA.
