Iowa Finishes Trip 4-1

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Iowa concluded its five-game tour in Australia with its fourth victory, taking a 112-82 win over the Kuiyam Pride. Iowa averaged 112.2 points in the five games, which included four 12-minute periods, as opposed to the 40-minute college game.

Iowa led 49-38 at intermission of the final win before using a 39-18 scoring advantage in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. The Hawkeyes shot over 50 percent (53.4%) from the field for the second straight game. Iowa also won the rebounding battle by a 61-41 margin.

Sophomore Greg Brunner scored 10 of his 20 points to lead the third quarter scoring barrage. Brunner made 9-11 field goal attempts and 2-3 free throws in the contest and added nine rebounds. Sophomore Pierre Pierce matched Brunner with 20 points and recorded four steals.

Iowa’s balanced scoring attack also featured Jared Reiner with 15 points, Brody Boyd with 14, Nick DeWitz with 13 and Jeff Horner and Glen Worley with 12. Reiner led Iowa with 11 rebounds and Worley added seven, while Horner added six assists.
