HAWKEYES IN THE NBA
Iowa has had 33 players appear in NBA / ABA games, including seven former Hawkeyes who have all won NBA championships. The Iowa basketball program has been well represented in the NBA championships over the years. In fact, former Hawkeyes have won 13 world championships while in the NBA. That list includes B.J. Armstrong, Matt Bullard, Fred Brown, Bob Hansen, John Johnson, Ronnie Lester, and Don Nelson.
Continuing the tradition, Iowa has had two players selected in the NBA Draft two of the last five years, while a handful of others have signed professional contracts to play overseas.
