NCAA Infractions Case
The NCAA Committee on Infractions (COI) determined that tampering violations occurred in the Iowa football program when two football coaches had improper communication with a student-athlete who was enrolled at another NCAA school at the time and had not yet entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Violations in this case, which were resolved through a combination of the negotiated resolution and infractions hearing processes, were classified as level II-mitigated. Penalties imposed include reductions in recruiting activities and communication restrictions, a financial penalty, and a one-year probationary period. A full report of the COI’s findings in this matter can be accessed here.
