Hawkeyes Travel to Hoosier Classic

THIS WEEK: The Iowa women’s tennis team will travel to Bloomington, IN for the Hoosier Classic Invitational Friday through Sunday. The tournament is flighted.

THE COMPETITION: The Hawkeyes will compete against Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Kansas State, Louisiana State, Louisville, Missouri, and Murray State.

THE HAWKEYES: Competing for the Hawkeyes will be senior Jennifer Hodgman, junior Gloria Okino, and freshmen Hilde Jansma, Hillary Mintz and Hilary Tyler.

LAST WEEK: The Hawkeyes competed at the Furman Fall Classic. Freshman Hilary Tyler placed second in flight five singles, going 2-1. Tyler, along with Hillary Mintz, finished fifth in flight three doubles after winning their last two matches. Individuals finishing fifth included Hillary Mintz in flight three and Gloria Okino in flight four.

HEAD COACH WARDLAW: Paul Wardlaw is in his seventh season as head coach of the Iowa women’s tennis program. Wardlaw has compiled a record of 69-66 (.511) and a career record of 319-141 (.693). Under his direction, the Hawkeyes have made three NCAA tournament appearances.
