HEAD COACH SASHA SCHMID

Former University of Iowa student-athlete and assistant coach Sasha Schmid was named head coach of the Hawkeye women’s tennis program on July 29, 2016. Schmid returned to her alma mater following stops at Stetson University (2002-11) and the University of Missouri (2012-16). Her husband, Jeff, is a former University of Iowa golfer. Her brother Steve played baseball at Iowa.

ASSISTANT COACH DANNY LEITNER

Daniel Leitner joined the Iowa coaching staff as a program coordinator in 2017. Leitner joined the Hawkeyes from Middle Tennessee State, where he served as an assistant coach on the MTSU men’s team for two seasons. Leitner graduated from MTSU with a Master of Science in Leisure and Sport Management in May 2017. He played collegiately at South Alabama before graduating in 2015.

ASSISTANT COACH, STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

Lindsay Dinkelman joined the University of Iowa Olympic strength & conditioning staff in July 2012. Dinkelman is responsible for women’s basketball, women’s gymnastics and women’s tennis.  She came to Iowa from Purdue University where she served as a Sports Performance assistant.
