Former University of Iowa student-athlete and assistant coach Sasha Schmid was named head coach of the Hawkeye women’s tennis program on July 29, 2016. Schmid returned to her alma mater following stops at Stetson University (2002-11) and the University of Missouri (2012-16). Her husband, Jeff, is a former University of Iowa golfer. Her brother, Steve, played baseball at Iowa.
Former Hawkeye student-athlete Elise van Heuvelen Treadwell is an assistant coach with the Iowa women’s tennis program. Her coaching career began as a graduate assistant in Iowa City before serving as an assistant coach at Delaware. As a player, van Heuvelen Treadwell was one of the most decorated players in Iowa and Big Ten history.
Andre McIntyre joined the University of Iowa Olympic strength & conditioning staff in August 2022. He is responsible for women’s soccer, women’s golf, women’s tennis and cross country.
