Remmerde To Miss 4-6 Weeks

Nov. 5, 2003

Iowa Head Coach Lisa Bluder announced today that freshman Deb Remmerde will miss 4-6 weeks with a stress fracture in her left foot. The 5-9 shooting guard suffered the injury during practice late last week.

“Unfortunately, Deb Remmerde has sustained a stress fracture in her foot that will take her out of competition for about four weeks,” said Bluder. “I know that Deb’s desire to return to the floor will drive her during her rehabilitation and we hope to have her back by the Iowa State game (12/3/03).”

The native of Rock Valley, IA, is the Iowa High School all-time scoring leader. She holds career state records for free throw and three-point percentage. Remmerde was named Iowa’s Miss Basketball her senior year and was the Class 1A State Tournament MVP.

Iowa hosts Athletes in Action in an exhibition game tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for youths.
