Five Hawkeyes Named All-Big Ten

State College, PA – Five members of the University of Iowa field hockey team were named to all-Big Ten Conference teams Thursday night at the Big Ten Tournament Banquet on the campus of Penn State.

Junior goalkeeper Barb Weinberg and senior forward Pattie Gillern were named to the first team, while Lindsay Miller, Sarah Dawson and Lauren Stiver were named to the second team.

Weinberg, a Louisville, KY, native was named the first team all-Big Ten goalkeeper for the second-consecutive year.

Gillern, from Medford, NJ, earned all-Big Ten honors for the first time after leading the Hawkeyes in points (32), goals (15) and shots (94).

Miller and Stiver were named to the second team for the second-consecutive year, while Dawson made her all-Big Ten debut.

Iowa will open the Big Ten tournament Friday against the Penn State Nittany Lions. The game will start at 11:30 a.m. (CST).
