AP Poll: Iowa No. 17

This week’s AP College Football Top 25

Seventeen is the number for the Iowa Hawkeyes this particular day.

Both of the major college football polls have Coach Kirk Ferentz’s squad as their No. 17 team. Iowa will take that ranking into Madison, WI, and a 2:30 p.m. date with Wisconsin his Saturday looking to improve it by capturing win No. 9 of 2003.

Iowa and Wisconsin will kick off at 2:30 p.m. inside Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday in a game that will help shape the Big Ten’s post-season bowl game landscape.

ABC-TV will televise the game live to a regional audience.

Iowa is one of four Big Ten teams among the nation’s best according to the writers who vote on Associate Press’ poll. Ohio State (4th, Michigan (5th) and Purdue (16th) complete the list. Oklahoma, USC and LSU were the top three teams.
