Listen to Lisa talk about this week’s games

The University of Houston is one of three teams scheduled to visit Carver-Hawkeye Arena this Friday and Saturday night as guests of Coach Lisa Bluder’s Iowa Hawkeyes. The Cougars will square off against Gonzaga in Game 1 of the 2003 edition of the annual KCRG-TV9 Hawkeye Challenge Friday at 5 p.m. Iowa will entertain Butler in Game 2 at 7 p.m.

The consolation and championship games of the Challenge will be played Saturday at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, at the Arena. The tournament marks the official start of the 2003-04 season for Bluder’s squad.

Included on the rosters of this year’s four teams are many talented women’s basketball players, but none so much so as Houston senior Chandi Jones, a senior who is a finalist for the Naismith Award and last year’s NCAA Division I-A scoring champion.
