Two Hawkeyes Named All-American

IOWA CITY – Two University of Iowa field hockey players were named STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Americans today. Junior goalkeeper Barb Weinberg was selected to the second team, while senior forward Pattie Gillern was named to the third team.

Weinberg, from Louisville, KY, is a two-time first team all-Big Ten selection. She started every game in goal for the Hawkeyes this season, posting a 1.35 goals against average and a .803 save percentage. Weinberg also tallied six shutouts. She was a first team all-West Region this season.

Gillern, from Medord, NJ, led the Hawkeyes with 32 points and 15 goals this season. She was a first team all-Big Ten and all-West Region pick this season.
