Iowa lost its first game in five series meetings with Missouri in a 75-65 defeat to the Tigers. The Hawkeyes’ loss marks the third time in three attempts this season that Iowa has lost to a Big 12 conference opponent. Iowa lost its previous two contests against Big 12 opponents in a 101-94 double-overtime loss at Iowa State and an 82-60 loss to nationally-ranked Kansas State at home.Today’s game is Iowa’s second contest during a stretch of three games in six days. The Hawkeyes began the stretch with an 84-72 overtime loss to Creighton at home. Iowa will conclude its stretch Friday evening when it hosts Illinois.Iowa last led in the first half, 9-7. Missouri then out-scored Iowa, 32-16, to head into halftime with a 39-25 lead. Junior Jamie Cavey was the only Hawkeye to score in double figures in the first half with 10 points, shooting 5-10 from the field.Senior Jennie Lillis scored 16 points (5-12 FG, 4-4 FT) and pulled down nine rebounds for the Hawkeyes before fouling out with 6:20 left in the game. Of her 16 points, 12 came in the second half.Sophomore Tiffany Reedy collected a career-high 16 rebounds (4 offensive, 12 defensive). The mark shattered her previous personal best of nine set last year vs. Northern Iowa (11/26/02).Cavey finished the game with 20 points and six rebounds before fouling out at the 2:20 mark.The Hawkeyes shot a season-low 29.6 percent from the field, connecting on only 21-71 shots. Iowa shot its second lowest percentage of the season from three-point range, finishing the game at 31.3 percent (5-16).
