The Hawkeyes need your help!
The UI Athletic Department is gearing up for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of historic Kinnick Stadium and they’re seeking help from both long-time and short-time fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the UI’s football facility.
“We know that what makes Kinnick Stadium special are the people who come to the stadium on Saturday afternoons to cheer the Hawkeyes and, of course, the Hawkeyes themselves. We’d be delighted to share some of our fans’ most special moments and stories with our fans.”
UI Athletic Director Bob Bowlsby

Did you attend the first game at Iowa Stadium? Have you been a season ticket holder for 30, 40, 50 years? Did you meet your husband or wife at a game? Have you tailgated in the same parking stall for 20-plus seasons?
If you have a great story about the Hawkeyes and Kinnick Stadium you’d like to share, send it to Kinnick Memories, 205 Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Iowa City, Iowa 52242-1020. Be sure to include your name, address, city and a daytime telephone number. You can also send an e-mail to:

“The celebration of Kinnick Stadium’s 75th birthday goes way beyond the bricks and mortar and grass and bleachers that is the facility itself. We know that what makes Kinnick Stadium special are the people who come to the stadium on Saturday afternoons to cheer the Hawkeyes and, of course, the Hawkeyes themselves. We’d be delighted to share some of our fans’ most special moments and stories with our fans,” said UI Athletic Director Bob Bowlsby.
Bowlsby said the majority of the feedback that is received and reviewed and ultimately selected for publication will appear on the UI’s official world wide web site, www.hawkeyesports.com. Some could, however, find their way into other University publications like the souvenir program sold at the home games of the 2004 Hawkeyes.
