ESPN Regional has secured rights to televise live the nationally ranked University of Iowa football team’s game Sept. 18 at Arizona State to a network of television stations servicing the state of Iowa and parts of bordering states. Coverage of the Iowa Hawkeyes’ first road game of the 2004 season will begin at 9 p.m. Iowa time and will be available on CBS2 in Cedar Rapids, KDSM in Des Moines, KWQC in the Quad Cities, KMEG Sioux City, KYOU in Ottumwa/Kirksville, Mo., and Cox Cable in Omaha. ESPN Regional is still in discussions with television stations and cable television systems that service the Mason City/Rochester, Minn., area.

All three of Iowa’s non-conference games in 2004 will be televised live.

The game will also be televised live by Fox Sports Arizona to subscribers of the cable/direct satellite television service.

The announcement means that all three of Iowa’s non-conference games in 2004 will be televised live. The Hawkeyes’ season opening “Throwback Game” on Sept. 4 and Iowa’s home game Sept. 11 against Iowa State both will be televised live beginning shortly after 11 a.m.
