The Iowa Hawkeyes met the media after a hard-hitting practice under some Florida sunshine Tuesday in Orlando as preparations continued for the 2005 Capital One Bowl on New Year’s Day.

Defensive end Matt Roth talked about being a “throwback” to a different era who enjoys playing the game of the football physically.

Defensive lineman Jonathan Babineaux was surprised to learn the governor of Louisiana is also a Babineuax. He assured everyone there was no family ties to be concerned about.

Wide receiver Clinton Solomon bragged about his grade point average for the fall semester at the UI and talked about his second-quarter touchdown catch in the Wisconsin game and how it shifted the momentum back onto Iowa’s side of the field right before halftime of that important Big Ten Conference game.

Finally, UI Offensive Coordinator Ken O’Keefe talked about Iowa’s field general, Drew Tate, and UI Defensive Coordinator Norm Parker compared college football to kindergarten.
