Are you the parent of a young boy looking to have a little summer fun? If so, you might consider enrolling him in one of the summer camps organized by the University of Iowa men’s basketball program.
Boys of all ages and skill levels have several options to choose from. All, however, include lectures and instruction by UI Head Coach Steve Alford, members of his current staff, and current and former Iowa Hawkeyes.
2005 Iowa Boys Basketball Camps
University of Iowa campus, Iowa City
July 10-14 and July 17-21*
Participants play four full-court games daily with boys of similar abilities and ages. The UI coaching staff and volunteer coaches also offer special clinics on shooting, ball-handling and other fundamentals during evening hours.
All participants receive an official NIKE Iowa Basketball Camp t-shirt and are eligible for a variety of daily awards presented by current and former Iowa Hawkeyes. Each session includes individual and team trophies and awards, all-star games, and an awards ceremony at award-winning Carver-Hawkeye Arena
Cost ranges from $250 per week for day campers to $330 per week for overnight campers.

Northwest Iowa Hawkeye
All-American Basketball Camp
Buena Vista University, Storm Lake
June 13-16
Participants experience skill stations, lectures, games and contests, and have the opportunity to improve their overall skills and knowledge of the game of basketball. Special emphasis is given on shooting, dribbling and defensive principles.
The camps is staged on the six air-conditioned basketball courts inside the newly remoded Buena Vista Athletic Complex.
