The sixth-ranked Iowa men’s gymnastics team dominated 14th-ranked Illinois-Chicago, 213.475-196.65 Saturday afternoon at the UI Field House. The Hawkeyes won every event and individuals took first in all events.

Iowa swept the all-around competition, with senior Linas Gaveika taking top honors, scoring a season-high 53.15. Freshman Curtis Kleffman placed second (51.625), while junior Michael McNamara finished third (48.825).

Iowa started the competition strong on floor, posting a 36.5 and scoring the top five individual performances. Shawn Stone won the floor title with a career-high 9.45. Following him were McNamara (9.1), Kleffman (9.050) and Reid Vancelette (8.9).

On pommel horse, Kleffman clinched the title, tying his season-high 9.35. Gaveika scored a 9.05 to finish second, and Drew Ignoto placed third (9.0). Junior Jacques Bouchard scored a 9.3 to take the still rings title, with Jason Dixon coming in second (9.1). Vancelette was crowned vault champion with a 9.125, with Kleffman following in second-place with a 9.075. On parallel bars, Matt Beiler and McNamara shared the title, both scoring a 9.0. Gaveika came in third with an 8.65. On the horizontal bar, Gaveika took top honors with a 9.4, while Bryan Bourland finished second (8.9) and Matt Beiler placed third (8.85).

The Hawkeyes will host the Minnesota Gophers Saturday, February 19 in a co-ed meet at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
