The 57th-ranked University of Iowa women’s tennis team (4-2) travels to 20th-ranked Notre Dame (4-4) Sunday. Competition will take place at Eck Tennis Pavilion at 10 a.m. CST.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame has wins over Ohio State, Michigan, Wake Forest and Boston College. Losses have come against No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 18 Harvard, No. 5 Duke and No. 9 North Carolina.

Catrina and Christian Thompson are the top-ranked doubles team in the nation. Additionally, Catrina is ranked 32nd in singles and Brook Buck is 60th.

Iowa Versus Notre Dame

The Fighting Irish lead the series, 10-1. Notre Dame won, 6-1, last season. Iowa’s only victory was in 1999, which advanced the Hawkeyes to the “Sweet Sixteen” of the NCAA Championships.

Last Weekend Notes

Iowa swept last weekend’s competition, going 7-0 against Marquette and Bowling Green. The Hawkeyes didn’t lose a single set against either team.

Hawkeyes On Fire

Hillary Mintz and Anastasia Zhukova are both 8-0 this spring. Each has two tournament wins and six dual victories. Mintz plays at the No. 2 position, while Zhukova is No. 3. Additionally, Zhukova has yet to play a third set, winning 72 games to her opponents’ 24 in dual singles matches.

Hawkeyes In the Rankings

In the ITA poll, the Hawkeyes are ranked 57th nationally. Hillary Mintz enters the singles rankings for the first time, ranked 78th. Meg Racette and Mintz are ranked 59th in doubles.
