Fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes heading to the 2005 Big Ten Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament at the United Center in Chicago this weekend should make plans to attend the pre-game Hawkeye Hoops Huddles held prior to each game of Coach Steve Alford’s squad.
The Hoops Huddles, presented by the National I-Club and the UI Alumni Association and sponsored by Gazette Online, will be held at Moretti’s, 1645 W. Jackson in Chicago. Moretti’s is located just two blocks from the United Center.
The first Hawkeye Huddle will be held on Thursday, March 10 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with tip-off at 1:30 p.m. As Iowa progresses through the tournament, the following Huddles will be held: Friday, March 11 from 3-5 p.m. prior to a 5:40 p.m. tip-off; Saturday, March 12 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. prior to tip-off at 3:05 p.m.; the final Hawkeye Huddle would be held on Sunday, March 13 from noon-2 p.m. prior to the championship game at 2:30 p.m.
Admission to each Huddle is free and includes snacks, cash refreshments, the Iowa Cheerleaders, special Iowa Athletic Department guests, Hawk Shop door prizes and merchandise. For more information, contact the UI Foundation at (319) 335-3305 or (800) 648-6973.
