Hawkeyes Finish Weekend With Five Wins

AUSTIN, TX – In the last day of competition at the Longhorn Invitational, the University of Iowa women’s rowing team took one out of five from the host school Texas. The Hawkeyes finished the weekend with five wins, led by the 1N8+ winning two races.

The Hawkeyes picked up the win against Texas in the 1V8+. The Hawkeyes timed a 6:34.8 to take first place, edging out Texas by one second. In the 1V4+, the Hawkeyes came up one second short of Texas to take second place, with a time of 7:40.9. The 1N4+ came in with a time of 8:41.1, finishing second behind Texas.

In the 1N8+, the Hawkeyes posted a time of 7:09.1 to give them second place. The 2V8+ competed in the last race of the weekend for the Hawkeyes. Iowa finished with a time of 7:00.1 taking second place behind Texas.

The Hawkeyes will be in action next on April 2 against Minnesota in Iowa City.
