IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa Varsity Eight boat is ranked 15th in the latest Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/USRowing poll. The last time Iowa had a boat ranked was the 2004 spring pre-season poll.
“It’s great to be recognized for our performance down in Texas,” Head Coach Mandi Kowal said. “The first weekend of racing provided some positive feedback for all the hard work that has taken place in the past two months. We have struggled with illnesses and injuries, but those present at practice are making the best of their time. We still have many tough races coming up and hope to continue improving with more water time and experience.”
Iowa returns to competition this Saturday April 2, when the Hawkeyes host Minnesota, at Lake MacBride. First race is set to begin at 10 A.M.
