MADISON, WI –
The Iowa Men’s Golf completed the final of three rounds of the 2005 Big Ten Championship in ninth place. The first two rounds of the tournament left them in a tie for eighth. Today they shot a team score of 293(+5). The team carded tournament score of 878(+14) which placed them ninth. Big Ten opponent Michigan State claimed first place with a team score of 847(-17). Indiana’s Jeff Overton won the individual title by five stroke shooting -15 for the tournament.
The Hawkeyes top individual performer was Luke Miller (T29, +4) who shot +1 on the final round of competition. Brian deBuhr (T36, +6) shot even par the first two rounds but a +6 in the final round left him in tied for 36th place. Other Hawkeyes that competed were Dan Holterhaus (T32, +5), Bennett Hammerberg (T36, +6) and Jon Feldick (T45, +9).
