Well, it’s almost game day and historic Kinnick Stadium is ready to accommodate a sellout crowd of 70,000 fans of the nationally ranked Iowa Hawkeyes.
hawkeyesports.com staff toured the facility Thursday. We dropped a handful of photographs of the finished south grandstand, the new Krause Family Plaza – which is approximately 50 percent complete and other bits and pieces that are represent the end-result of Phase 1 of the multi-million dollar renovation of the UI’s prized varsity football facility.
Fans whose seats are located in the west grandstand are reminded to follow the signage that will direct them on game day through the construction that is still on-going on the new press box. Fans are also invited to explore the new plaza and grandstand…but to do so well in advance of game time so that they make it to their seat for the pre-game activities associated with Varsity Club Day.
