LOS ANGELES, CA – Iowa Hawkeye Hillary Mintz fell to Maryori Franco of Arkansas in the first round of prequalifying play at the Riveria/ITA All-American Championships today. Mintz, a junior, was defeated 6-4 and 6-3 by Franco and is now out of singles play.
Mintz will begin doubles play on Tuesday with teammate Meg Racette.
Mintz and Racette competed in this meet last year. Mintz finished with a 2-1 record in 2004 while Racette finished 2-2.
