Iowa women’s basketball fans can get a sneak preview of Iowa when the Hawkeyes “Hoop It Up” Saturday, Oct 22 from 8-10 a.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The Hawkeyes will practice from 8-9 and then scrimmage from 9-10. Doors will open at 7 a.m. and the event is free to the public. Herky will make an appearance to help tip-off the season. The practice/scrimmage will take place before the Iowa vs. Michigan football game in Kinnick Stadium.
Every fan that checks in at the registration table located immediately behind the south basket inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena Saturday morning between 8-10 a.m. will receive a gift compliments of Bluder’s Bunch.
Randomly selected fans will win prizes ranging from season tickets to pairs of tickets to select home games of the Hawkeyes to black-and-gold merchandise. One lucky fan can be cheering Coach Ferentz’s 2006 Hawkeye team from the new outdoor club seat section of Kinnick Stadium press box September 2 vs. Western Michigan.
Iowa will play its first exhibition game on Sunday, November 6 against Wisconsin AAU at 2:05 p.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa returns eight letterwinners, including two starters from last year’s team that went 23-10 overall and advanced to the semifinals of the WNIT.
