University of Iowa junior kicker Kyle Schlicher has made the semi-finals for the 2005 Lou Groza Collegiate Kicker of the Year Award. Schlicher made the semi-final list of 20 kickers from around the country.
The group will name three finalists on Nov. 21st with the winner being announced on Dec. 6th at a banquet in Palm Beach, FL.
Schlicher is Iowa’s leading scorer with 70 points. He has made 31 of 32 extra points and is 13-16 in field goals. He ranks 20th nationally with 1.44 field goals per game. His 165 career points rank 11th on Iowa’s all-time scoring charts.
Schlicher, a native of Ankeny, IA, is hoping to become Iowa’s second winner of the Groza Award. Nate Kaeding won the prestigious award in 2002.
