UI Announces Additional Ticket Options

The UI Athletic Department announced today the addition of a handful of new options for fans considering the purchase of tickets to one or more home games of Coach Steve Alford’s nationally ranked Iowa men’s basketball team.

Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 16, fans of the Hawkeyes can purchase a two-game package that includes reserved seat tickets to Iowa’s games against Robert Morris on Thursday, Dec. 22, and Illinois on Saturday., Jan. 7.

The Iowa-Illinois game is the Hawkeyes’ 2006 Big Ten Conference home opener. That game will tip shortly after 1 p.m. inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena and will be televised live by ESPN. Iowa’s game against Robert Morris will tip off shortly after 7 p.m.

The UI announced that Iowa’s game Saturday, Nov. 26, against Texas-San Antonio has been designated Youth Basketball Day. Any boy or girl in eighth grade or younger wearing their team jersey to the game will be eligible to purchase a $10 game ticket. The Iowa-Texas-San Antonio game will tip-off shortly after noon.

Tickets to the home games of Coach Steve Alford’s Iowa men’s basketball team can be purchased online by clicking HERE, over the phone by calling 1-800 IA-HAWKS or in person at the UI Athletic Ticket Office in Carver-Hawkeye Arena or the Iowa City/Coralville Convention and Visitors Bureau information desk in Coral Ridge Mall.

Iowa also announced that a $10 youth ticket will be available in limited quantities for Iowa’s games against Drake on Tuesday, Dec. 20, Robert Morris on Thursday, Dec. 22, and Penn State on Wednesday, Mar. 1. Any boy or girl high school aged or younger will gain admission to these events with a youth ticket.

Alford’s squad opened its 2005-06 season with victories over Maryland-Eastern Shore and Colgate in action in the Iowa City Region of the 2005 Guardians Classic. The Hawkeyes will play Kentucky Monday at 8 p.m. in Kansas City. Texas and West Virginia will play at 6 p.m.
