University of Iowa linebacker Chad Greenway and defensive tackle Mitch King have been named to separate all-America teams. Greenway has been picked for Associated Press second team all-America honors while King made the Scout.com first freshman all-America team.
Greenway, a 6-4, 244-pound senior from Mt. Vernon, S.D., led the Hawkeyes in tackles with 147 stops. He had one interception and ten tackles for loss. He was named to the first all-Big Ten team for the second straight year.
King, a 6-3, 247-pound red-shirt freshman from Burlington, IA was fifth on the team in tackles with 58. He led the Hawkeyes in tackles for loss with 10.5 for losses totaling 28 yards. He also forced three fumbles.
Both players will join their teammates in the January 2nd Outback Bowl in Tampa, FL against Florida. The Hawkeyes finished tied for third in the 2005 Big Ten race and had a 7-4 regular season record.
