The fifth-ranked Iowa men’s gymnastics team defeated 12th-ranked Illinois-Chicago, 208.250-200.800 Saturday at UIC. The Hawkeyes won every event except still rings.

Iowa senior Michael Reavis placed first in the all-around with a score of 53.300. This is his second first place finish in two meets. Reavis also placed first on floor exercise (8.900), second on pommel horse (8.950), second on vault (9.250), first on parallel bars (9.000) and first on horizontal bars (9.350).

On pommel horse, Curtis Kleffman clinched the title (9.350) and Drew Ignoto placed third (8.700). Jacques Bouchard scored 8.850 to take second on the still rings. On vault, Geoff Reins placed first with a 9.550 and Jake Becker placed fifth (9.050). Kleffman also came in second on parallel bars (8.450) followed by Matt Beiler in third place (8.100). The Hawkeyes travel to Las Vegas for the Winter Cup January 3-4.
