Cedar Falls, IA – The University of Iowa women’s swimming and diving team defeated UNI 138-62 Friday evening. Iowa won every event but one tonight.

Kelly Werner had a first place finish in the 100 freestyle (53.49). Emily Bensink took first place in the 50 freestyle with a 24.73, followed by Robin Samples (25.08) and Mindy Schulte (25.28). Erica Noah won the 200 freestyle (1:57.21) and Emily Hoefler came in second (1:58.13). Alison Gschwend took first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:11.25. Ashley Dell placed first in the 500 freestyle (5:10.79). Emmy Haeger won the 200 backstroke (2:27.43) and Katie Koenig placed second (2:33.93). Koenig came in first in the 200 individual medley (2:15.02). Jaclyn Sarna took first in the 1000 freestyle with a 10:54.56.

In relay action, the team of Gschwend, Werner, Haeger and Martin came in first in the 400 medley with a time of 4:01.59.

The Hawkeye women return to action February 15-18 when they travel to Columbus, OH, for the Big Ten Championships.
