The University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team will travel to Denton, TX to compete at Texas Woman’s University Saturday. Competition will take place at the Pioneer Hall and is set to begin at 7 p.m.

Last Time Against TWU

This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

Last Competition

No. 32 Iowa hosted, and lost to, No. 21 Illinois last weekend by less than a point (193.850-193.025). Iowa’s Kortny Williamson tied for first on vault scoring 9.825. On floor exercise, Iowa’s Liz Grajewski placed first, scoring 9.775 while teammates Beth Dilick and Kortny Williamson tied for third with a 9.7. Dilick also placed second on bars posting a 9.8. Grajewski won the all-around with a 38.925.

Head Coach Larissa Libby

Larissa Libby is in her second season as head coach for the Hawkeyes. In her first year, Libby recorded an 8-14 record. Before becoming head coach, Libby was Iowa’s associate head coach for one year and an assistant coach three seasons. While associate head coach, Libby led the GymHawks to a school record 49.425 beam performance in 2004. In addition, in 2004 the GymHawks recorded a 49.0 or higher seven times on beam under Libby’s guidance.

Next Competition

The Hawkeyes will host Minnesota Sunday, March 5th. Competition will take place in Carver Hawkeye Arena at 2 p.m.
