BLOOMINGTON, IN – The University of Iowa men’s swimming team is in tenth place with 36 points after day one of the Big Ten Championships being held on the campus of Indiana University.
Freshman Nick Divan placed 21st in the 500 freestyle with a 4:30.29 and senior Cameron Dye finished 22nd with a 4:31.48. Senior Trevor Haley placed 23rd in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:52.47. The 200 freestyle relay team of Nathan Keeling, Seth Tweedy, Jeff Kubat and Dye finished ninth at 1:23.88. The 400 medley relay team of Andrej Lenert, Dragos Agache, Keeling and Dye placed ninth at 3:19.66.
The Hawkeyes return to action tomorrow for day two of the Championships. Swimming prelims begin at 11 a.m., with diving prelims at 12:30 p.m. Both swimming and diving finals will begin at 6 p.m. Fans can follow the action live at www.iuhoosiers.com.
