Hawkeyes Finish Ninth At Big Ten Championships

BLOOMINGTON, IN – The University of Iowa men’s swimming and diving team finished ninth at the Big Ten Championships with 127 points.

Sophomore Dragos Agache earned a NCAA `B’ time and seventh place in the 200 yard breaststroke with a 2:00.31, and junior Paul Divan finished 24th at 2:07.68. The 400 yard freestyle relay team of Cameron Dye, Seth Tweedy, Andy Miner and Jon Landon finished in tenth place at 3:07.62. Sophomore Nathan Keeling finished 13th in the 200 yard butterfly at 1:49.84 and senior Trevor Haley came in 19th at 1:51.44. In the 200 yard backstroke, sophomore Andrej Lenert finished 24th at 1:51.66. Freshman Nick Divan placed 24th in the 1,650 yard freestyle with a 15:46.17.

The next scheduled competition for the Hawkeyes is the Iowa Senior Championships, March 3-5. The diving team will attempt to qualify for NCAA Championships at the NCAA Diving Qualifier in Columbus, Ohio, March 9-11. Swimmers who have earned NCAA `B’ times are provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia.
