LINCOLN, NE – The No. 47 Iowa women’s tennis team defeated Nebraska today, 4-3, in Lincoln. The victory broke Nebraska’s 69 home non-conference competition winning streak. Iowa is now 6-2 this season.
#39 Meg Racette defeated Kim Hartmann, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 at the number one singles position. Milica Veselinovic defeated Vanessa Heute, 7-5, 6-4, at the number three singles position, and Jacqueline Lee defeated Milena Schulz-Gartner, 6-2, 6-3 at the number four singles position.
In doubles competition, Racette/Lee defeated Reimers/Skaza, 9-8 (11-9), and Berry/Dowlin defeated Zugner/Castillejos, 9-8 (7-5).
Iowa will continue competition Sunday, March 5th at Drake. Competition is set to begin at 1 p.m.
