The Iowa Hawkeyes put the finishing touches on the seventh undefeated home season in the history of men’s basketball at the University of Iowa Saturday afternoon with their 59-44 win over Wisconsin, a victory that gave Steve Alford’s squad the No. 2 seed in next week’s Big Ten Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament in Indianapolis.
It was also Senior Day inside sold out Carver-Hawkeye Arena and the 15,500 fans of the Hawkeyes in attendance said good-bye to seven senior members of the 2006-07 Iowa squad. That list included senior forward Greg Brunner, senior center Erek Hansen, senior guard Jeff Horner, senior center Doug Thomas, senior guard Justin Wieck, and team managers Mike Freeman and Brett Kozishek.
