LAWRENCE, KS – The No. 47 Iowa women’s tennis team defeated No. 74 Kansas today, 4-3. Iowa is now 8-2 this season.
In singles play, Meg Racette defeated Ksenia Bukina, 6-2, 6-1 at the number one singles spot. Milica Veselinovic defeated Christine Skoda, 6-4, 7-5 at the number three singles position, and Jacqueline Lee defeated Lauren Hommell, 7-5, 6-2 at the number four singles spot.
Iowa clinched the doubles point with wins from Racette/Lee, and Mintz/Veselinovic. Racette/ Lee defeated Kansas’ duo of Avdeeva/Bukina, 8-5, while Mintz/Veselinovic defeated Hommell/Horvath, 8-5.
Iowa continues competition tomorrow in Manhattan, KS, facing Kansas State University. Competition will begin at noon.
