Austin, TX – The University of Iowa rowing team competed today in the second day of the Longhorn Invitational. The Hawkeyes raced against Texas and Duke.
The novice rowers had a full day of tough competition. Texas defeated the Hawkeyes in the first and third novice eight races and twice in the second novice eight race. The first novice eight boat rebounded from this loss when they defeated Duke.
Iowa’s varsity rowers ended the day with one victory. They defeated Duke in the second varsity eight race. The Hawkeyes first varsity eight boat fell to Duke. Both the first and second varsity eight boats were defeated by Texas.
The Hawkeye rowers will conclude competition at the Longhorn Invitational tomorrow. They will have four races against Kansas State. The first race will begin at 9:20 a.m.
