HUNTINGTON, WV – The Iowa men’s golf team completed the first two rounds of the Marshall Invitational in a ninth place tie. Iowa carded a first round score of 298 (+14) and followed with a second round score of 296 (+12). Although they are in a tie for ninth, the field is very tightly packed. Iowa sits just four strokes from fifth place and six strokes from fourth.
Senior and team co-captain Brian deBuhr (+1, T2) led Iowa individually by continuing his run of good play. He shot one-over-par which put just two strokes out of first place and second place tie. His second round score of 70 (-1) tied a season and career low. Jon Feldick (+3, T7) carded a first round 70(-1) which helped propel him into the top 10 of the leaderboard going into the final round. Todd Larson (+11 T61), Andy Tiedt (+11, T61), and Cole Peevler (+15, T79) also competed for the Hawkeyes.
Iowa will finish the final round of the Marshall Invitational Saturday at 7 a.m. CDT.
