Hawkeyes Compete in Day Two of Sprints

<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />OAK RIDGE, TN — The University of Iowa rowing team competed in the second day of the Aramark Central/South Region Sprints Sunday.  The Hawkeyes raced in four events and finished 12th in the overall standings.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />

 

Iowa came in fifth in Final C of the first varsity four.  In the second varsity eight race, the Hawkeyes took second place in Final C.  Iowa’s first novice eight boat finished sixth in Final B.  In the first varsity eight race, Iowa raced in Final B and finished sixth. 

 

This regatta concludes the regular season for the Hawkeyes.  The 2006 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships selection will be announced May 16.  The National Championships will

take place May 25-28 in West Windsor, NJ.
