STANFORD, CA – Iowa senior Meg Racette began competition yesterday at the NCAA Individual Championships at Stanford University. Racette defeated Alex McGoodwin of UCLA, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 in the first round.
Racette now posts an overall record of 28-8 and is ranked 39th nationally. Continuing competition today, Racette will face third-seeded Daniela Bercek of Duke. Bercek is ranked fourth nationally with a 24-7 overall record. Competition will begin at 3:30 CST.
