Iowa senior Meg Racette’s collegiate career ended today in the second round of the 2006 NCAA Individual Championships. Racette fell to third-seeded Daniela Bercek of Duke in two sets (6-4, 6-2) at the Taube Tennis Center on the Stanford University Campus.
Racette, a native of Urbandale, IA, posted an overall record of 28-9 this season. She advanced to today’s round of 32 after defeating Alex McGoodwin of UCLA in three sets yesterday (6-4, 5-7, 6-2). Racette was the first Hawkeye to advance to the NCAA singles tournament since Iowa Assistant Coach Toni Neykova did it in 2002.
