Big Ten, Iowa Announce Television Schedule

Sept. 7, 2006

The Big Ten office and the Iowa Hawkeyes have jointly announced its television schedule for the 2006-07 season. Lisa Bluder’s Hawkeyes will be televised five times on KCRG-TV9 (Cedar Rapids) and three times on Comcast SportsNet Chicago. Seven of Iowa’s 15 regular season home games will be on television – the most in school history.

Iowa, Penn State and Minnesota are the only three league teams selected for television at least three times by the conference office on Comcast SportsNet Chicago. The Hawkeyes will be televised by the regional cable network in home games against Minnesota (Jan. 25) and Michigan (Feb. 8) and a road contest at Penn State (Jan. 28).

This year marks the sixth season KCRG has partnered with the women’s basketball team to air games. Iowa’s second game of the Hawkeye Challenge (Nov. 18) will be aired, along with home dates against Iowa State (Nov. 30), Northern Iowa (Dec. 19), Michigan State (Jan. 14) and Wisconsin (Feb 25).

In addition to five games, KCRG will continue to air the monthly “Lisa Bluder Show”. The 30-minute show enters its third season, hosted by John Campbell.
