EAST LANSING, MI — The University of Iowa women’s golf team finished in sixth place after playing 54-holes at the Lady Northern Invitational Sunday. Iowa carded a low round of 302 to finish with a total score of 919 at Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, MI. Michigan State won the tournament with a score of 889. Forest Akers West Golf Course will also be home to the 2007 Big Ten Championships.
Amy Riepma (Clear Lake, IA) jumped into 13th place after tying for 23rd at the end of two rounds. She carded a one-over par, 73, for a three-round total of 226 +10. Jill Marcum (Clarinda, IA) carded a 235 +17 to finish tied for 28th. Tyrette Metzendorf (Winter Haven, FL) finished tied for 37th, shooting 19 over par, 235. Karla Murra (Sioux Falls, SD) tied for 44th, carding a 235 +22 and Melanie Boyles (Tempe, AZ) finished 48th for the Hawkeyes.
Iowa will play next at the Notre Dame Invitational September 23-24 in South Bend, IN.
