Hawkeyes Complete Day Three

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Iowa men’s tennis team competed in main draw singles and doubles action at ITA Midwest Regionals, hosted by the University of Minnesota, today. Competing for Iowa in singles play were Christian Bierich and Bart van Monsjou.

Bierich was defeated by Steven Moneke of Ohio State, 7-5, 6-2, while van Monsjou was defeated, 6-1, 7-6, by Billy Heiser of Illinois.

In doubles action, Iowa competed in three matches. In round of 64 action, Iowa’s duo of Bierich/Elwell was defeated by Berry/Breitenbach, 8-6, of Butler.

In round of 32 action, the duo of Holm/McGeorge was defeated by Johnson/Radman of Louisville, 8-3, while Dwyer/Grimes was defeated by Eberly/Kronauge of Ohio State, 8-2.

Iowa will return to competition at Big Ten Singles, beginning November 10th, hosted by the University of Michigan.
