Former Iowa offensive lineman Bruce Kittle has been selected to be Iowa’s honorary captain for Saturday’s game against Northern Illinois. The Hawkeyes face the Huskies in a televised game with kickoff set for 11:03 a.m. in sold out Kinnick Stadium.
Kittle, a lineman from Cedar Falls, was a four-year letterman (1977-79 & 1981). He helped Iowa to a co-Big Ten championship and Rose Bowl appearance in 1981, a year he served as one of the Hawkeye co-captains. He missed much of the 1981 season with a knee injury.
He will accompany the Iowa captains to the center of the field for the pre-game coin-flip. He will also be with the Hawkeyes on the sidelines and in the locker room before and after the game.
