Winston-Salem, NC –
The University of Iowa field hockey team arrived in Winston-Salem yesterday. Today, the Hawkeyes were able to get their first practice at Kentner Stadium, located on the Wake Forest campus. The weather was beautiful, clear blue sky with temperatures approaching 80 degrees.
During practice the Hawkeyes had one of their own come for a visit, a Hawk. For nearly ten minutes a Red-Tailed Hawk circled the field and received a nice reaction from the Iowa team as well as a few “Go Hawks!” cheers.
The No. 14 Hawkeyes will face No. 10 Virginia in NCAA Tournament action tomorrow at 1 p.m. (CT) in Kentner Stadium.
