Hawkeyes In Seventh At Bruce Fossum Invitational

EAST LANSING, MI – The Iowa men’s golf team played the first two rounds of the Bruce Fossum Invitational Saturday at the Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, MI. The Hawkeyes had a two-round total of 575 and finished the day in seventh place. Michigan State is leading the tournament with a score of 563.

Sophomore Cole Peevler led the way for the Hawkeyes. After shooting a 70 in the first round, he posted a season low round of 66 in the second round. Peevler is in second place with a score of 136. Senior Jon Feldick posted a two-round total of 143 to finish tied for 16th. Junior Dan Holterhaus shot a season low round of 72 in the second round. He is tied for 32nd with a score of 146. Senior Bennet Hammerberg was the third Hawkeye to post a season low round Saturday. He shot a 75 in the second round and finished tied for 56th with a score of 151. Sophomore Zack Anderson recorded a score of 154 and ended Saturday’s competition tied for 64th.

The Hawkeyes will play the final 18 holes of the Bruce Fossum Invitational Sunday. Competition will begin at 8:30 a.m. (CDT).
