Friday Night Tailgate comes to Iowa City

Sept. 6, 2007

IOWA CITY — The Big Ten Network kicks off its coverage of the Iowa-Syracuse football game with Friday Night Tailgate, the network’s television show devoted to capturing the excitement of game week on each Big Ten campus.

Hawkeye fans are invited to participate in the network’s live telecast. The free event will take place Friday, Sept. 7, at 6 p.m., at the Krause Family Plaza located at the south end of Kinnick Stadium. There will be music and the first annual “Tailgate Toss” Tournament.

The atmosphere in Iowa City should be electric leading up to the Syracuse game, which will mark just the third true night game in Kinnick Stadium history.

Host Mike Hall will talk to members of the media as well as to our reporters at the various campuses. Adding a lighter note to the program, Friday Night Tailgate will feature a weekly competition between two Big Ten schools to see which has the better atmosphere and traditions on football weekends. By the end of the football season, FNT will crown the one university with the best campus football experience.

This week, Iowa competes against Minnesota in a battle to determine which school has the better college football atmosphere.
